About Us

ABOUT VISION OF CHANGE

Vision of Change (VOC) is a nonprofit initiative launched in 2011, whose purpose is to find sustainable solutions for children in need. VOC operates locally, nationally and internationally partnering with existing organizations to implement cutting-edge environmental and educational programs. To date, our efforts have been centered in Nicaragua and at home, in South Florida.

Our vision is to directly impact 100,000 children and youth in the U.S. and Latin America through our programs – in collaboration with like-minded entities by 2020.

VISION

We give children the experience of self-reliance and accomplishment. Through education and implementation of sustainable projects, Vision of Change strives to empower youth to improve their quality of life and become innovative, responsible and liberated members of society.

MISSION

Vision of Change is committed to positively impacting the lives of children worldwide through support for sustainable projects. We stand for a world where the empowerment of children creates Unity, Acceptance and Peace.

OUR HISTORY

What began as a desire to make a difference for children in need by providing necessities such as clothing, medical and school supplies quickly evolved into providing sustainable solutions for basic necessities like food, water and shelter. As we involved ourselves with this effort, we realized there were many resources available to empower children worldwide that could contribute to their own well-being. Through our work, we began witnessing a transformation in our children’s self-esteem and self-worth, and we became compelled to do much more.

Vision of Change gives children the experience of self-reliance and accomplishment. Children participate in our projects, learn about sustainability and ultimately experience their own ability to create ecologically viable solutions to meet their own needs.

We at Vision of Change feel fortunate to share our knowledge of sustainability while positively impacting children in need and creating a belief of self reliance, responsibility and worth.

To date, and with very limited resources, we have had a compelling track record of success, helping over 3,500 children in communities in Nicaragua and South Florida. We welcome your support to help us achieve our dream of empowering 100,000 children by 2020.

PROGRAMS

  • Our signature program is in San Marcos, Nicaragua with partner organization Los Quinchos. Over the past 5 years, together we have installed a rain harvesting system, solar power pumps and drip irrigation to support local agriculture, providing food and clean water year-round for the kids in their care. We have also delivered over 13,000 pounds of donated items that include toys, clothing, shoes, school and medical supplies, in addition to education on canning and preserving food. This program has enabled us to help more than 450 formerly abandoned and abused children of all ages to date, while transforming an entire community.
  • In South Florida, we duplicated our rain harvesting project, Rain Catchers, on a smaller scale for the children of Kids In Distress by installing a 2,500 gallon rain water containment, utilizing solar power pumps for drip irrigation of their vegetable garden – educating the kids on the use of renewable resources. Over 3,000 children and youth have been impacted thanks to this project.
  • We also partner with Covenant House, recently giving away bicycles to 49 disadvantaged youth, providing them with transportation to both school and work.
